Three reasons to choose St. James's Laser Vision

There are many good reasons to choose St. James's Laser Vision, including the medical leadership behind the services we provide, the reassurance provided by the high standards within the NHS Trust, and the expertise of our surgeons.

Laser eye surgery directed by surgeons, not corporations

surgery

Expertise - Our surgeons are both fellowship trained corneal and refractive surgeons. Surgeons without fellowship training or who are not Fellows of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists may charge their employers less to perform laser eye surgery.

Continuity of care - Our surgeons direct surgical and optometric care at the unit, conduct all consultations, and perform all treatments. We do not delegate important aspects of our care to less expensive staff.

The best technology available - All of the equipment in the unit has been hand selected by the surgeons ensuring the best care for their patients, as opposed to managers keeping an eye on the bottom line.

One price for laser eye surgery - Regardless of your prescription, we only charge our patients one fee for surgery, and include everything you need in that fee - no surprises!

No commissioned sales people, just straightforward medical advice - We do not employ anyone on commission or otherwise incentivised by volume targets.

No high volume patient targets - We at St. James's Laser Vision are not looking to grow exponentially. In fact, we are quite comfortable seeing a manageable amount of patients while ensuring that we can provide them with as much time as possible to satisfy their visual needs and address their individual concerns.

Enjoy the reassurance of laser eye surgery that is backed and overseen by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

reassurance

State of the art technology - St. James's Laser Vision is equipped with the very latest refractive laser and associated laser eye equipment. This enables it to offer the most advanced treatments.

Hospital-based care - All laser eye surgery is performed at our surgical facility within the internationally renowned Ophthalmology Department at the St. James University Hospital in Leeds.

Overseen by the NHS Trust - All our sophisticated laser technology is located in Leeds, within the hospital. We placed our surgical facility in this hospital location to ensure the highest level of safety and to provide reassurance to our patients. This also places the service in an academic environment under close scrutiny of our peers and overseen by the authority of the NHS Trust.

Our surgeons have expertise in more than laser eye surgery - By integrating the service for private and NHS patients, we are able to perform the most sophisticated techniques on the most challenging cases.

Reinvesting earnings back into your local NHS - Having the new unit at St James's also means that all facility income derived from the laser service are reinvested directly into the St. James's University Hospital's eye department, funding the most sophisticated eye care available to NHS patients.
